12 Baby Gear Essentials for the Minimalist Mom

Back in 2009, I had my first baby… a boy we named Lucas Lyle.  I fondly remember the time as one of peace, contentment and happiness even though we had very little.  I also remember MTV’s 16 & Pregnant being on constantly.  That was their first year and Macy, Farrah, Caitlyn,  Amber & myself learned how to be mom’s together.  Yes, it was a special time!

Any mom will tell you that one of the most precious things is dressing your younger child up in the same outfit as your older child wore. It is one of the most adorable things in the world. Nostalgic almost.

I recently put my youngest into a outfit from my oldest and it was adorable.  It also made me think about all the baby gear mom’s have NOW that we didn’t have just a short eight years ago.  So new mommy’s out there, be thankful you have these useful tools to keep your baby happy (and yourself sane)!

  1. Fisher Price Rock ‘n Play Sleeper – seriously the best thing ever!

  2. Free Breast Pumps through most insurances

  3. Baby Jeggings like these from Children's Place

  4. Wifi Baby Monitors

  5. Lightweight Joggers and Strollers

  6. Baby Food Pouches (we only had jars)

  7. FridaBaby NoseFrida Nasal Aspirator (check it out here - I swear by them)

  8. Wubbanubs like this cute giraffe

  9. Reusable swimming diapers (they really work!)

  10. Banana and Broccoli and all sorts of fun shaped Baby Toothbrushes

  11. Bandana Bibs (these ones are super absorbent and super cute!)

  12. Tricked-out Baby Swings

What would you add to the list?
